I am not a big reader but thanks to my friend/vt, Rachel, I have been totally into the book Queen Bee and Wannabees. So it began when I was talking to her about how Sabrina, who is in 1st grade, is already dealing with girl drama. Being that I have 3 GIRLS she thought I might find the book interesting. Lets just say I am intrigued and a bit fearful. So as I was reading about the roles different girls play I realized that these roles don't go away when one graduates from high school or even college. As I have gone to different activities/places throughout the week I have found myself wondering who was a queen bee/sidekick/floater etc. in school and if as adults that still applies. So what were you????? I really do want to know :)

Now I'm totally intrigued! Can you really tell all that from the books??? I love knowing people are analyzing me when I am with them. Thanks for the heads up. Ha!
I didn't mean for it to sound like I am analyzing people. Heck I can't even figure myself out :) It is just mere curiousity.
I would like to borrow that please. Can I claim floater? Is that the same as airhead? That's me for sure.
that's a very probing question.. I was definitely not a queen bee in school - probably a floater, and now I'm probably a sidekick - I don't come up with a lot of great ideas, but I'm pretty good at helping other people execute (not sure if that really fits the description, but hey).. then again, I do like to boss people around a lot, but that's just the mom part of me, right?
How interesting. I love stuff like this. I don't really know what I am and don't know if I want to know actually.
I just love this book. And I was the sidekick, for sure.
PS, I am glad high school is over.
Oh boy, I am going to have to check this out. I have a fear that I already know what my daughter is, and I haven't even read the book. When Trevian graduated from PRESCHOOL her teacher told us that one boy in class referred to Trevian as "The leader of the girls." And the teacher said "he's right." Yikes. But I may have a hard time cracking what I am...whichever one is SO GLAD to have high school over with and know I never have to go back there!
I bet it won't take long for you to guess what I was...am... I think. I LOVE that book. In my line of work it is a MUST and is very helpful. I think as kids we tend to one type and then by adults we "perfect" what we are and make it our own. Hopefully, shave off some of the rough parts. I think we tend to get into trouble when we come across the people who have not ever grown up out of high school or ever elementary school.
Unfortunetly, pre-school and elementary playgrounds are BRUTAL places if you are not a "sure-footed" individual. I am glad you have read the book. Doesn't it make people watching a KICK! Wait until your next RS meeting. Just kidding...
Oh the message that says Bruce left it was really left by Julie Nielsen...just in case you did not know
