Last week I left a note on Sabrina's bed (see last post) and asked her if she wanted to be Mommy/Daughter Pen Pals. Since Camille was born we haven't really had much time together. I was really excited about the idea. Well, she came home, found the note, and then never said anything. The next day I asked her and she said, "I don't think so mom, that is kind of weird to be pen pals with someone who lives in the same house, but thanks anyways." Well, today I came into my room to find a note on my nightstand. This is what it said,
Dear Mommy,
Yes, we can be Mother and Daughter Pen Pals. If you want to hang out more what do you want to do? I love you!
love,
Sabrina
p.s. Maybe we can watch a movie together. Just you and me.
Now to some this may just seem like a simple note but to me it meant the world. It made my day! I adore my Sabrina.

Jessica! That post makes me so happy! How sweet of her to oblige to your pen pal wishes :) Make sure to save all those letters somewhere so you can show them to her when she's a teenager! I think I might steal your pen pal idea! Coralee loves to write, and it'd be nice to have some sort of record of how much she loves me! :)
Isn't it the best when your kids like hanging out with you?! The best feeling!!!
She is a sweetie. You are all so photogenic! This will definitely give her something tangible for her to look at during the rough times. What a great idea!
Jessica,
You look GORGEOUS in that picture, by the way...
What a fun idea. You're a great mom. YOU ARE!!!!!!!!
What a fun idea! I've had a secret journal with several of my kids over the years. (One at a time, not all of them at once!) I write a note to them and then hide it in their room. When they find it, they write back to me and hide it in my room. We usually choose pretty easy hiding places like under the pillow.
That is so sweet Jessica! I'm glad Sabrina came around. :) What a fun time--I think I should try that with my kiddos. Zach loves writing notes. And what a great pic of the two of you--you look great!
That's such a great idea-I can't wait until the girls are old enough to do something like that with them. What a wonderful way to become closer to each other.
Oh my goodness. That is hilarious! That sounds exactly like what her mother would write if she were Sabrina's age...like dah mom...we live in the same house...weird. That was good laugh.
Oh yes, by the way, I am fine. I have just been really busy with this darn PTA job I have. I will NEVER do it again. I feel like the PTA was designed for responsible parents to make up for all the deadbeat parents who don't do anything. Sorry, don't want to offend anyone by that comment. It is just a bad time in that area of my life right now. It's just shocking to see how some parents don't give a rip about their kid's class or teachers, so other parents have to make up for them falling short. Sorry for the vent, I do feel better and thanks for asking. We are pretty much back to normal now. Knock on wood.
