Just last night we found out that a good friend, we had lost touch with after moving to Vermont, had passed away in 2008. When Jordan and I lived in Encino, CA we became good friends with a newlywed couple, Chun and Leanna Ng, who moved into our ward.
Leanna, had wanted to have kids and a month before Sabrina was born, she had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. She was devastated for many reasons and we felt so helpless as their friends. Even though she was still recovering, Leanna came to my baby shower for Sabrina and gave me the cutest baby outfit. She was so proud of the deal she got at baby Gap, she couldn't help but tell me how little she spent on it ($.20 for the hat, $2.00 for the onesie and dress) It made me love it even more. Throughout the years, all 3 girls have worn this cute outfit that we named, the baker's outfit, and everytime I put it on them it would remind me of sweet Leanna. One and a half years ago when I dressed baby Camille in this outfit, I thought of Leanna and tried to find her on facebook, but with no luck. It was about this exact time that she passed away. Her husband said that over the years she had been on a downward spiral with severe depression. It just breaks my heart that such a sweet, kind person was overcome by such hurt, pain, and hopelessness. She left behind a loving tight-knit family and adoring husband. :(
This was the only pic I could find with one of the girls (Mackenzie) wearing the Baker's Outfit. The hat is what lead to the name.

What sweet memories you have of your dear friend! I'm sorry for your loss. When did you live in Encino? We lived there 87-89.

Wow! That is crushing. What a sadness to know there are so many people that hurt that much. My heart goes to her family and you guys.
