Camille has been growing up so quickly. Since she turned 1, a month ago, she has taken a few steps here and there, but this week she has officially graduated into a walker. I just love it when those little bodies start walking, it kind of looks like a mummy.
Those who have been around Camille have commented that she is a talker. She is very vocal with her sounds and would not be described as a quiet baby. Shoot, is that possible having me as her mom? :) She has been saying Dada and Daddy for quite awhile. This last week when I had surgery and my mom was here taking care of the girls she began saying Gaga (that is what they girls call her). It is so precious. For some time, very little though, she says Mama or Mommy. I didn't think much of it until Wednesday when she said Brida (that is how Mackenzie said Sabrina's name when she was the same age). At first I just thought it was a coincidence, but I am pretty sure it isn't. When Sabrina got home from school and Camille heard her from upstairs she started yelling, Brida, Brida? It was so cute. So I can officially say it bothers me that Camille rarely says Mama or Mommy. Instead I'm referred to as Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh...... or Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmmm, Mmmmm(said in a whining way repeated a million times in a row).
Since I am on the topic of Camille. She has never been a good sleeper but what is with her sleeping getting worse???? You can only blame it on teething for so long and when Tylenol does nothing and there is no way she is hungry, enough is enough. Last night Jordan fell asleep while reading to the 2 older girls (they girls all share one room, yep I know, pretty crazy but it works having toys all in one room and beds in another). I was still up doing work and heard Camille wake up multiple times, screaming. I didn't think anything of her waking up Jordan and the other girls because they sleep through anything. A little later in the night I went to check on everyone and found that Jordan had uprooted Sabrina, Kenzie, and himself into the guest room, closed Camille's bedroom door, closed the guest room door, and put a pillow over his head. You know it is pretty bad when the guy who can fall asleep in less than a second and sleep through anything took the time to wake up enough to relocate 3 people. :-)
Okay, so after I just read what I typed I realized I totally sound like a complainer. Shoot, I have never fooled myself or anyone else into thinking I was an optimist. Some of us need to balance out those optimist with a little pessimism, or as I like to call it realism, or as Jordan and his friend call it, cynicism. Either way, I feel the need to express my love and gratitude for my little Camilia. Though some of her nicknames consist of disorganizer, bully, bruiser, stinker, chunkers, we do often throw in more positive terms of endearment.
**As I am writing this Camille has just figured out how to lift the lid to the toilet. Seriously, this is all new to me. Having 2 older children has not prepared me for this one.

You had surgery!?!?! Are you okay? We need to talk... I feel so out of the loop.
On the topic of babies not saying MOM. Paige said DAD for months and months before saying mom. I think she was even close to 18 months before it became regular. I was so hurt... but as you WELL KNOW... there comes that day when we wish she never learned the word MOM. :)
I know exactly what you mean! I love that you keep it real! I love talking with you. Camille will be a strong one, that's for sure.
Teething is horrible. An entire year of misery. Ha! Hang in there. I know you're a great mom. And the pictures below are too cute for words. Your girls are precious.
