It's Christmas Time!

Sabrina has been counting down the days until we were going to decorate for Christmas. Jordan had this last weekend off so we attempted to decorate the house. Camille thought she would contribute by literally crying all day long. Not the kind of Christmas music I imagined. Here are Jordan and the girls separating the tree branches to put up our fake tree. I miss the smell of a real Christmas tree so I bought a smelly candle to substitute for the real thing.

I just thought this picture was funny because the girls totally thought they were so sneaky by hiding behind the tree. They didn't think we could see them.

Mackenzie has a gift for taking household items and putting them to another use. She is quite creative. On this day she thought the tree skirt would be better as a blanket instead of under the tree. She decided it was time to take a pretend nap.

Several years back my dad made these soldiers. Mackenzie decided to call them her mom and dad. At the time of the picture she was pretending that she was taking a walk with her new mom and dad.

I love the way you decorate your home at Christmas. Looks like the girls had a blast! Too bad Riley wasn't there to harmonize with Camille!
I am sure our trees here are no where near Vermont standard. Fake is probably better!

Mackenzie is so creative! I love it.

Our decorating didn't go so well today. All the boxes of decorations are still strewn about the house and the pre-lit tree has a bunch of lights out. Oy!

Don't you love this time of year?! The smells, the decorations, the excitement of the kids. I love the picture of your daughter with the lights all around her. She gets all into it, huh?!

So... I think all my Christmas stuff is up now, too! Well... all that I'm putting up this year, anyway! My kids were also whining about WHEN we could decorate, and though it took us several days, we managed to get it done!
I miss you! Your house is so beautiful at Christmas!

Merry Christmas Smiths. It looks like a nice warm sunny southern California Christmas. I've been thinking of you guys a lot this December, your shovel has been getting overtime work (as have I).
