Laughing Makes It All Better...Right?

This is what ended up around my wrist today. All I can do is laugh because, well, what else am I going to do? Cry? Well, the crying happened when the triage nurse asked if I was in pain. Then she made me laugh and well, that is what I have decided to stick with.

So much for getting into shape. I joined Cyndi and Amy to play volleyball at the church. I was totally anxious to play since I haven't played in years. It ended up going pretty well. That is until I thought it would be a good idea to jump up to spike this awesome set from Amy. It is the landing part that became a problem. If you are wondering about the ball...yes, the ball went over. That is really all that matters, right? :) Well when I came down from my little jump I rolled my ankle and then I heard a "pop." I was totally embarrassed so I stayed on the floor and scooted off the court trying to play it off. One of the nice ladies helped me up to a chair and another got me ice. After a minute or so I felt like I was going barf and started getting all clammy (sp?). Um, I am pretty sure that I was going into shock. The ladies playing asked a few times if I wanted to rotate back in, but I knew that it was not going to happen and all I could think about was, "I AM SO LAME, EMBARRASSED, AND I CAN NOT BE HURT. IT JUST CAN NOT HAPPEN. MY HUSBAND IS DEPLOYED UNTIL JULY AND I HAVE 3 KIDS!!!!!"
I then hobbled over to my stuff and started to gather up Camille and head to Urgent Care. Amy and Cyndi offered to keep her with them. I was so grateful I didn't have to bring Camille with me. Thank you Cyndi for watching and entertaining Camille at your house. So I get to Urgent Care and the triage nurse asks about my pain level and I completely break down crying and say that it isn't the pain I care about, it is the fact that my husband is deployed and I have kids I need to take care of. Poor nurse. She was such a good sport though. She cracked a joke and I totally snapped out of my pity party. They quickly got xrays and while I was waiting for the results I emailed Jordan from my phone telling him what happened. I got this response a few minutes later.
Jess-The only thing I can think to do is tell you something. The minute before I got the email from you, I got up b/c I thought of you and was going to call to see how you are doing. I didn't know anything was wrong, just that I hadn't talked to you in awhile. I think it's a way for Heavenly Father to let you know he's watching over you, and that everything will be ok. Do you need me to call anyone to pick up the girls? Love,-Jordan
I can not put into words how much comfort this gave me. I am so grateful for Jordan's testimony and for his work in staying close to the Lord. He may be thousands of miles away but I feel close to him and KNOW WITHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that Heavenly Father is watching over us.
The doc came back and said that they saw two chips in the bone (one in the ankle). She thought it was from when the ligaments were ripping that some bone went along with it. Awesome, huh? :) I have an appt with the orthopedist tomorrow.
IT COULD BE WORSE! IT IS WHAT IT IS! ITS ALL GOOD!

What a great husband! And you are amazing! I'm always so impressed with how well you deal with deployments. I never hear you gripe or whine. You are one strong woman. MANY could take a lesson or two from you! I'm so glad your mom is there to help for a little bit!
